Vic: Reports of $40m bail out for movie theme park

MELBOURNE, Feb 8 AAP - A consortium refused to comment today on reports the Victorian
Government had offered $40 million in emergency aid for an embattled $485 million movie
theme park intended to rival Sydney's Fox Studios.

Studio City Melbourne Ltd said it had notified authorities that it had withdrawn plans
to raise public funds after the collapse of a float yesterday.

The state government had made a $40 million emergency assistance offer to the project,
which had promised to create thousands of jobs, The Age reported today.
