Fed: Downer to hold talks in Dili

Foreign Minister ALEXANDER DOWNER will travel to Dili for tri-lateral talks with East
Timorese and Indonesian officials .. including discussions on the escape of 57 prisoners.

Mr DOWNER says yesterday's mass jailbreak is a matter of concern to the Australian government.

He says it's a difficult task for the Australian Federal Police and defence force helping
local authorities in trying to recapture the escapees.

The minister says they're concerned because there are a lot of weapons in East Timor
.. and many unaccounted for.

Mr DOWNER will travel to East Timor on Sunday and have talks on Monday with President
XANANA GUSMAO .. Prime Minister JOSE RAMOS HORTA and Indonesian Foreign Minister NOER
HASAN WIRAYUDHA.
